Brand Nu Step "Stan"

If you are looking for a confidence builder or an all around family horse, Stan is the man! He has been exposed to all the shenanigans that ranch kids will expose them to and always has the same happy expression. He has also been my top pick for any and all ranch jobs, from doctoring calves out in the pasture to riding out by myself to look for cattle. He is always good to ride out alone and I always feel safe on him. No matter how chilly the morning, he is always the same and never tight. I started breakaway roping this fall and he has really come along tracking calves and stopping hard! I have had a lot of fun getting him started for some kid to carry on in the breakaway if they chose to. Stanley is small enough that he is perfect for a kid to feel confident on, but he has a big horse mentality and work ethic. He is great about picking you up off of a block or log or whatever you can find to get on (even though he isn’t very far from the ground!) He has crossed water and never misses a step in rough country. Tarps, flags, dogs, chickens, and even the occasional turkey under foot doesn’t phase him. He has the SMOOTHEST rocking chair lope ever, and can lope as slow as most big horses can walk. He really likes working cows and tracks up great on the heels in the branding trap. I learned to shoe my own horses last summer and Stanley was so patient with me while I learned my way around all the steps! While all the ranch stuff is fun, Stanley is also the horse that we use for visitors that are beginners and need a quiet reliable ride that they can feel safe on. He is a true gentleman and has all the traits that people are looking for in a horse for their kids or for the whole family. Stan’s your man, if Stan can’t do it, no one can!
