Horse Transportation Requirements

All horses must be paid in full before they will be released from the sale grounds and prior to obtaining transport paperwork.

Once payment is settled at the sale office, buyers may pick up registration papers (if applicable) and required transport paperwork.

Requirements for All Horses
Before leaving the Pitchfork Ranch, each purchased horse must have:

Brand Inspection (Ownership Papers) 

     Required on all sale horses
     Included with checkout and must be obtained from the Brand Inspector after payment
     State-mandated fee: $15 per horse (or current state fee & added at checkout)
   

Coggins Test

     Required for all horses sold
     Must be current within six (6) months of sale date
     Provided by consignors
     Must be obtained from the on-site Veterinarian prior to leaving

For Horses Leaving the State of Wyoming
     Health Certificate required
     Health certificate fee: $10 per horse (or current fee- added at checkout)

International Transport Requirements
International shipments require additional documentation and fees:

International Health Certificate (generally $150)
Detailed Coggins Test with complete markings including whorls, scars, brands, white markings, and other identifying features
If the consignor-provided Coggins does not meet international standards, the on-site Veterinarian may need to issue a detailed Coggins for an additional fee. (To be paid by buyer.)

International Health Certificates do take additional time to complete, please make your travel plans accordingly.

Buyers are encouraged to verify with the consignor of any horse of interest that the Coggins will qualify for international transport to help save time and expense.

On-Site Assistance-
The Brand Inspector and Veterinarian will be located adjacent to the WYO Ranch Horse Sale Office during and immediately following the auction.

Equine Transporters-

If you are sending your horse with a shipper, please be sure that the appropriate travel paperwork if left with the office for the hauler to pickup with the horse.

Licensed and insured equine transporters can be found on the internet; equine transport, or equine transporters.
